Located in Southern Nevada, Desert National Wildlife Refuge is the largest refuge in the lower 48 states. It spans 1.6 million acres over 2 counties and covers 6 mountain ranges. The refuge is the size of 2 Rhode Islands plus 250,000 football fields!

In 1936, the refuge was created to protect desert bighorn sheep. But bighorn sheep aren't the only wildlife that call the refuge home—collared lizards, mountain lions, and 320 bird species can be spotted.
